This credit was not available in calendar years 2022 and 2023 and Lacerte seems to be treating it as a credit that has been phased out.  However, due to low natural gas prices, the credit is available in calendar years 2024 and 2025.  Please see IRS Notice 2025-34, dated 6/27/25 which indicates that the credit for calendar year 2025 is $.79 per mcf.  The credit was $.77 for calendar year 2024.  The Lacerte program has not been updated to allow input of the credit to form 3800, part III, line 1bb for 2024 and 2025 credits.  This a very material item for one of my clients.  In 2024, I had to manually complete both forms 8904 and 3800 and file on paper.  If there is some way I can complete the forms, or at least form 3800, through the software, allowing e-filing of this return, I would like to know.
