After recent updates,
When I import tax's e-organizer, I received the following error message:
"Not able to open E-Organizer data, The firm number attached to this E-organizer data does not match your firm number:"
This is the 2nd client that I have the same problem. I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Lacerte Tech Support on Friday and the agent wasn't able to find the root cause and fix it.

That means the Firm ID embedded in the .EOY / E-Organizer file header does not match the Firm ID stored in your current Lacerte installation.
This is not a client-file issue — it is a firm-configuration mismatch.

Organizer created under a different firm setup
This is the #1 cause.
Happens when:
• You restored prior-year data from backup
• You changed firm info mid-year
• You use multiple preparer firm profiles
• Lacerte auto-generated a new firm ID after reinstall
Even a tiny change (like EIN formatting) can trigger this.
