It has never been the most useful tool, I gave up using it.
But in ten hours, I could have entered 3-4 returns...

The trial balance tab at the top of the screen in Lacerte is where you go to link the files. As previously mentioned, however, it is not the most useful tool. The coding does carryforward from year to year, but depending on the number of accounts and summarizations you need, it may not be worth it.
Pretty sure I can do it at least as fast as in excel, just data input, no linking, but everyone is trying to automate more these days, so we're using it.

I have tried that and even had tech support on line but they were unable after the better part of an hour to help me.
Why is it that we have to resort to this board instead of Lacerte Support helping Us.
Thanks

Why? Because we know what 'we' are doing, Support is basically clueless.
And of course, Intuit pays us a LOT more than they pay support /S
( /S = sarcasm, just in case someone thinks I'm serious 😉

Are you trying to export QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop trial balance?
Somewhere on these forums I recall seeing that it won't work with QBO. Don't remember if it was Lacerte. ProSeries, or ProConnect.
The more I know the more I don’t know.

I use Desktop and I am trying to export to Lacerte.
I have given up.
Thanks
So much for technology
Best wishes
I loved Lacerte when it was owned by Lawrence Lacerte.

Especially since 10 years ago it worked great (with Desktop). I had all QB files that I accessed directly for tax prep set up (chart of accounts assigned), and my 'front office' employee well trained on how to transfer/trouble shoot any issues to match the provision for taxes & get the balance sheet to 'balance'. Oh well - 'progress'.

Hi @harveyburger Thanks for posting in the Community about being unable to transferring QuickBooks to Lacerte. We will look into this for you. Could you tell us what version of QuickBooks you are using when you are trying to transfer. Also, we did find a video that might help with this:
Intuit - Lacerte - Importing QuickBooks Data to Lacerte
