Hello All
I'm trying to report a 1098B for my client and it was supposed to be report at part II line 8b. But I can only get the information populate at line 8a. What should I do to make it right?

Did you enter the date acquired & date sold? And are those dates far enough apart to create a long-term gain?
Did you inadvertently check the box to force short term?

the date acquired and sold are both set as various, I force it to populate as long term, just can't get it move to represent box D was checked in form 8949.

What do you have entered for 'Basis Reported" ? blank is 'to the IRS and F 8949 isn't generated. You can force F 8949 to populate in Settings, even if not required.

I'm not trying to populate F8949. I'm trying to move Sch D part II line 8a to line 8b.

We override and always force the 8949 even when not required. This moves the number down to 8b on the schedule D. If you want to override and force the 8949, it is a setting in the Lacerte options menu. Can not remember exactly where.
