Tch support no help. under tools where it says lacerte updates it is blacked out. She says everything is running in the background. I use to be able to click on efile atlas and see versions and possible scheduled updates but they did not know anything about that. I hope this is not the way the year is going to go. Where to find scheduled updates.
thanks
Michele

Per some announcement they sent out.... a known problem.
Either re-install via WebSetUp, or thru the ToolHub.
Once you can access "Updates via the" upper menu bar, I 'think' you then have the option to disable the auto update option.

Right now the problem is that the automatic update process will not run unless you login to each workstation as an admin user. Once you login to windows as an admin user, you can manually start the updates by going to Tools, Lacerte Updates. I have reported this issue to Lacerte support, but was told my network settings must be incorrect. Unfortunately, the representative could not provide guidance on which settings to review or change.
I really hope the developers recognize this issue and program the new automatic updates feature to behave more like the update scheduler used in prior years. Previously it would pull updates when scheduled, notify each user when an update was available, then prompt for admin credentials to install the update. BRING THIS BACK or give us guidance on setting network permissions to enable background update checking for users without admin privileges !
