I've been going around in circles more than I'd like. Is this still the case in Lacerte? It's either one or the other, but not both or any combination of the above?
You can e-file a Federal extension with payment, but electronic estimates are not possible until the return is finalized and e-filed.
And, of course, Ohio doesn’t allow e-filing extensions at all, because that would make too much sense.
Am I overlooking a workaround to accommodate extensions with amounts due and estimates for both federal and state using electronic payment and e-file?

For federal, add the Q1 2024 estimate amount to the extension payment.
When the return gets filed, apply the overpayment to 2024 tax.
The more I know the more I don’t know.
