The IRS bills are typically an automated system.
Amending returns is not automated - it usually take two to four MONTHS for the IRS to process an amended return. So if you e-filed them only a few weeks ago, it will likely be some time before the IRS processes them.

Yes, some people still don't realize that e-filing an amended return is like emailing IRS a pdf. It goes in the processing grinder a few days earlier than one that is mailed.
