Will using 1040 instead eliminate the issue?

Actually, though the error message did not indicate a state, when I changed one of the state returns to paper file instead of e-file, the error went away and I am able to file the federal and the rest of the state returns by E-file.  thanks for your help---it's what made me explore removing state returns.
