Try the Lacerte trick that works when you know what the form should look like.
Go to Forms view and select Show All. Locate the 8997. Right click on the line you want populated and select "Jump to Input"

For Part I, prior investments, "jump to input" doesn't work.

A second snifty feature of Lacerte is that while in the detail screen you can use Ctrl + F to do various searches. The problem can be what to search for. A bit of trial and error lead me to "Find an input field" and search for QOF.
