The 'name control' comes from the client screen, where the full name of the entity is entered.  There's no need, or place, to enter it separately.

Did you get a rejection?

Although, if it is a trust such as The John Jacobs Trust and Lacerte came up with THEJ and you got a reject, you can enter the correct name control in Screen 2.2

There is a Name Control input field where you can correct or override the the four letters that Lacerte comes up with.  I've used it in prior years to correct efile rejections, but am not finding it in the 2021 Individual program.  Where has it gone?  Thank you.  

Still there, if you must.  But these exist only in entity returns, I believe.

Can't name you a single screen number because these vary by the type of return it is.  You should find the field for Name control [Override] under Electronic Filing > Miscellaneous.
