More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, creating about two-thirds of the new jobs in the United States every year. In addition, small businesses comprise about 99.9 percent of all firms.<\/p>\n<p>According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, the president of the United States has issued an annual proclamation announcing National Small Business Week since 1963.
