My familiarity with ProSeries and the consistency in how the program have changed with the times have made tax season stress a little better. I am a big proponent of the <a href=\"https:\/\/accountants.intuit.com\/support\/en-us\/help-article\/asset-depreciation\/getting-started-proseries-fixed-asset-manager-fam\/L3NqSUlng_US_en_US?srsltid=AfmBOooEx0gnxc_Gkf17TMV7Cg4l2zYis-SS9k0iIwDBPBC-pqiaiglP\">Fixed Asset Manager program<\/a>, and all the bells and whistles I have learned over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SC: What is unique about your firm compared to other firms?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DD:<\/strong> We like to think that our devotion to accuracy is unique, but I suspect every CPA feels the same way. I am 30 minutes from two different states in Tennessee, so I get a lot of multi-state returns. We are a year-round client write-up and payroll services provider to many of our business clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SC: What is your vision for your firm going forward?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DD:<\/strong> To get caught up from the hole that most public accountants fell into during the pandemic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SC: I know you\u2019re active in the ProSeries Tax Community. What motivates you to help others with questions about the software and about tax?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DD:<\/strong> I actually, sincerely enjoy helping others in the <a href=\"https:\/\/accountants.intuit.com\/support\/en-us\">tax community<\/a>.&nbsp;Believe it or not,&nbsp;it is a great stress reliever for me.&nbsp;I have been helped many times since I found the Community site, and giving back just feels natural \u2026 and good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SC: How has your practice changed over the last 5 years?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DD:<\/strong> I have spent more time answering erroneous and foolish IRS correspondence in the last 5 years, pandemic-forward, than I did in probably my entire other 35 years of public accounting. It was just a nightmare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SC: What do you like to do in your spare time?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DD:<\/strong> I&#8217;m a sports nut\u2014 a season ticket holder to my University of Tennessee Volunteers football team (5-hour drive each way, each weekend), and all other sports that involve my Vols.&nbsp;My yard is my passion, another true stress reliever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SC: What was your very first job?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DD:<\/strong> Working at my Dad\u2019s 24-hr Truck Stop in our little town of about 275 residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SC: If you were stranded on a desert island with access to just one kind of technology, what would it be, and why would you want it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>DD: <\/strong>The internet &#8230; isn&#8217;t that everyone\u2019s answer?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SC: Surprisingly not!
