Along the way, be sure to attention to these important tax deadlines in September, and pass this list along to your clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/taxprocenter.proconnect.intuit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/September-2024-Tax-Dealdlines-and-Compliance.pdf\">September<\/a>, it is recommended that you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Schedule appointments with individual clients for year\u00ad-end tax planning sessions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remind individual clients and C corporations of extended Oct. 15 filing deadline for 2024 returns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>File returns for calendar-year <a href=\"https:\/\/taxprocenter.proconnect.intuit.com\/tax-law-and-news\/s-corporation-essentials-for-tax-pros\/\">S corporations<\/a> and partnerships that obtained automatic extensions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key Compliance Dates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Thursday, Sept. 5<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on August 28-30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Friday, Sept. 6<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on August 31-Sept. 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tuesday, Sept. 10<\/strong>\u2014Tipped employees who received $20 or more in tips during August report them to the employer on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-prior\/f4070--2005.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Form 4070<\/a>, <em>Employee&#8217;s Report of Tips to Employer<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wednesday, Sept. 11<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on Sept. 4-6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Friday, Sept. 13<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on Sept. 7-10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Monday, Sept. 16<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Individuals:<\/strong> Make a payment of your 2024 estimated tax if you&#8217;re not paying your income tax for the year through withholding (or won&#8217;t pay in enough tax that way). Use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/f1040es.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Form 1040-ES<\/a>. This is the third installment date for estimated tax in 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Partnerships:<\/strong> File a 2023 calendar year return (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/f1065.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Form 1065<\/a>, <em>U.S. Return of Partnership Income<\/em>). This due date applies only if you timely requested an automatic 6-month extension. Otherwise, see <a href=\"https:\/\/accountants.intuit.com\/taxprocenter\/tax-law-and-news\/march-2024-tax-and-compliance-deadlines\/\">Partnerships under March 16<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>S corporations:<\/strong> File a 2023 calendar year income tax return (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/f1120s.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Form 1120-S<\/a>, <em>U.S. Income Tax Return for a U.S. Corporation<\/em>) and pay any tax, interest, and penalties due. This due date applies only if you timely requested an automatic 6-month extension of time to file the return.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Corporations:<\/strong> Deposit the third installment of estimated income tax for 2024. A worksheet, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-prior\/f1120w--2022.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Form 1120-W<\/a>, <em>Estimated Tax for Corporations<\/em>, is available to help you estimate your tax for the year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Social Security, Medicare, and withheld income tax:<\/strong> If the monthly deposit rule applies, deposit the tax for payments made in depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on Sept. 11-13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wednesday, Sept. 20<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on Sept. 14-17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wednesday, Sept. 25<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on Sept. 18-20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Friday, Sept. 27<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on Sept.
