Be sure to share this list with your clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In <a href=\"https:\/\/taxprocenter.proconnect.intuit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/April-2023-Tax-and-Compliance-Deadlines.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">April<\/a>, it is recommended that you:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>File <a href=\"https:\/\/taxprocenter.proconnect.intuit.com\/tax-law-and-news\/last-minute-tips-to-help-your-clients-make-the-tax-filing-extension-deadline\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"21522\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">extensions<\/a> for individual clients who will not meet the April 18 filing deadline.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct reviews of clients&#8217; prior-year returns to determine the need for amended returns.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>File extensions for corporate clients who will not meet the April 18 filing deadline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size\"><strong>Tax compliance deadlines:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday, April 5<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on March 29-30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Friday, April 7<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on April 1-4.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monday, April 10<\/strong>\u2014Tipped employees who received $20 or more in tips during March report them to the employer on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-prior\/f4070--2005.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Form 4070<\/a>, <em>Employee&#8217;s Report of Tips to Employer<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday, April 12<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on April 5-7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Friday, April 14<\/strong>\u2014Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on April 8-11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tuesday, April 18:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Individuals.<\/strong> Remind your individual clients to file 2022 returns (Form 1040 or Form 1040-SR) and pay any tax due; alternatively, have them file for an automatic six-month extension (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/f4868.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Form 4868<\/a>, <em>Application for Automatic Extension To File U.S. Individual Income Ta<\/em>x) and pay what they estimate they owe in tax to avoid penalties and interest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Calendar-year C corporations.<\/strong> File 2022 returns on Form 1120; alternatively, file for an automatic six-month extension (Form 7004).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Corporations.<\/strong> File a 2022 calendar-year income tax return (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/f1120.pdf\"rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"  target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\">Form 1120<\/a>, <em>U.S. Corporation Income Tax Return<\/em>) and pay any tax due. If they want an automatic six-month extension of time to file the return, file <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/f7004.pdf\"rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"  target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\">Form 7004<\/a>, <em>Application for Automatic Extension of Time To File Certain Business Income Tax, Information, and Other Returns<\/em>, and deposit what they estimate they owe in taxes. Deposit the first installment of estimated income tax for 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fiduciary<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>File a 2022 calendar-year income tax return (Form 1041) and pay any tax due. If you want an automatic 5\u00bd\u00ad-month extension of time to file the return, file Form 7004 and deposit what you estimate you owe in taxes. Deposit the first installment of estimated income tax for 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Individuals and calendar-year corporations pay first installment of 2022 estimated tax. Monthly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax for March.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your individual clients are not paying their 2023 income tax through withholding (or won&#8217;t pay in enough tax during the year that way), have them pay the first installment of their 2023 estimated tax.
