We want to lean on Intuit for this. Intuit can do it better, bigger and faster, and they have the systems to do it. Our team at Pure needs to focus on serving our clients, learning complex tax code and helping our clients grow their businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Berger appreciates the productivity gains of integrated tax and accounting in the cloud to reduce data entry and create capacity for his team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I can take a client and have them in the cloud in <a href=\"https:\/\/quickbooks.intuit.com\/accountants\/products-solutions\/accounting\/quickbooks-online\/\"title=\"\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\" data-wa-link=\"body_accnt-qbo\">QuickBooks\u00ae Online<\/a>, and sync that data and push it to Intuit <a href=\"https:\/\/proconnect.intuit.com\/tax-online\/\"title=\"\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\" data-wa-link=\"body_ito\">ProConnect\u2122 Tax Online<\/a>, I can create synergy and really build efficiencies. It allows me to spend more time servicing my clients and helping them grow their business, which is a win-win for everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One of the most common reasons firms move to the cloud is to retain key <a href=\"https:\/\/accountants.intuit.com\/taxprocenter\/practice-management\/remote-employees-may-be-the-cure-to-your-staffing-woes\"title=\"\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\" data-wa-link=\"body_tpc-remoteemployees\">employees who are relocating<\/a>. Berger said the cloud gives them the ability to service clients anywhere in the world. Access to real-time financials also allows Pure to prepare taxes on the firm\u2019s schedule, instead of relying on clients to bring in tax data, reducing the preparation cycle time from months to days.<\/p>\n<p>Pure\u2019s cloud-based workflow automates most of the transactional activity, so the firm and clients use real-time financial data to improve decision making. Instead of being a janitor and cleaning up books annually for tax preparation, Pure has become the architect who builds and maintains the operating platform for business clients. With a cloud platform of integrated apps, Pure advisors can focus on delivering higher value advisory services.<\/p>\n<p>When asked how they migrated legacy clients from desktop to the cloud, Berger says it wasn\u2019t easy, but they continued to present the business benefits to the client, including more collaboration with the firm, automation and real-time insights. However, it wasn\u2019t an instant adoption by all clients. Client concerns about learning a new system and paying a subscription instead of an installed software license were some of the hurdles to address.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, most chose the more efficient cloud path recommended by Pure. The firm has seen first hand that if they can educate clients, set realistic expectations and show the benefits, most of the time clients will work with you to transition to cloud-based software.<\/p>\n<p>Creating an advisory workflow in the cloud has helped transform Pure from a traditional firm to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.firmofthefuture.com\/\"title=\"\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\" data-wa-link=\"body_fof\" target=\"_blank\">firm of the future<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are at a point now where we aren\u2019t going to take new clients if they are on a desktop solution and are not willing to migrate to the cloud,\u201d says Berger. \u201cIt really is chasms apart.
