To help combat this, the IRS and its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/newsroom\/security-summit\"title=\"\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\" data-wa-link=\"body_irs-securitysummit\" target=\"_blank\">Security Summit partners<\/a> created a new Taxes-Security-Together Checklist, with steps you can take now to prevent and recognize data theft, as well as guidance on what to do if you experience a data breach.<\/p>\n<p>Following this checklist is a great starting point for tax professionals who want to protect their offices, computers and data, and help clients ensure their <a href=\"https:\/\/accountants.intuit.com\/taxprocenter\/client-relationships\/educating-your-tax-clients-about-security-threats\"title=\"\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"false noopener noreferrer\" data-wa-link=\"body_tpc-clientedusecurity\">information is secure<\/a>.
