This time of the year is also a great opportunity to <a href=\"http:\/\/taxprocenter.proconnect.intuit.com\/client-relationships\/5-ways-to-engage-clients-after-tax-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wa-link=\"body_tpc-engageclientsafterseason\">contact your clients<\/a> to let them know how thankful you are for their partnership and business. And, don\u2019t forget to remind them of November\u2019s important tax and compliance deadlines. Here\u2019s a list for your review.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In <a href=\"https:\/\/taxprocenter.proconnect.intuit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/november-2017-tax-deadlines.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wa-link=\"body_tpc-nov17Taxguide\">November<\/a>, it is recommended that you:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remind individual clients whose withholding status will change in 2018 to submit new W-4 forms to their employers.<\/li>\n<li>Remind individual clients who may have underpaid their estimated taxes to increase the withholding from their salary and wages to make up for the shortfall.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/tax-professionals\/ptin-requirements-for-tax-return-preparers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wa-link=\"body_irs-taxProPTIN\" target=\"_blank\">Renew<\/a> your Preparer Tax Identification Number.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/tax-professionals\/e-services-online-tools-for-tax-professionals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wa-link=\"body_irs-eservicesTools\" target=\"_blank\">Register online<\/a> to use IRS e-services. Preparers who anticipate filing 11 or more 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ and 1041 returns during the year must file electronically.<\/li>\n<li>Set up tax preparation software and test e-filing.<\/li>\n<li>Download the IRS e-file logo and order IRS e-file marketing materials. Access the Electronic Federal Tax Payment System Toolkit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/p4320.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wa-link=\"body_irs-p4320\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Compliance Dates:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, Nov. 1 <\/strong>\u2013 Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on Oct. 25-27.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, Nov. 3 <\/strong>\u2013 Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on Oct. 28-31.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, Nov. 8<\/strong> \u2013 Semiweekly depositors deposit FICA and withheld income tax on wages paid on Nov. 1-3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, Nov. 13<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>File <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/pub\/irs-pdf\/f941.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Form 941<\/a>, <em>Employer\u2019s Quarterly Federal Tax Return<\/em>, for the third quarter of 2017 if tax for the quarter was deposited in full and on time.<\/li>\n<li>Tipped employees who received $20 or more in tips during October should report them to the employer on Form
