How to resolve Lacerte Tax diagnostic 59292
by Intuit• Updated 1 month ago
This diagnostic will typically generate when:
- The return includes a disposition of an asset, such as a sale.
- The required information about the disposition is not properly entered in the tax software.
To resolve this diagnostic:
- Verify that the information about the asset disposition is entered correctly in Lacerte.
- If the required information is missing, enter it in Screen 23, Dispositions (Schedule D, 4797, etc.).
This may include:- The name of the entity that sold the asset.
- Information about whether the asset was used in a qualified trade or business. This may involve checking a box or selecting an option in the software.
- If the only disposition is the sale of a publicly traded security, you may need to indicate this in the software or provide additional documentation to support the exemption from the qualified business income deduction.
