Marking federal returns as initial or final in ProConnect Tax

Marking a Corporate return as initial or final
- Go to Input Return ⮕ General ⮕ Miscellaneous Information
- Select the Miscellaneous tab.
- Scroll Down to Miscellaneous
- Enter 1=initial return, 2=final return, 3=both
Marking a Partnership return as initial or final
- Go to Input Return ⮕ General ⮕ Miscellaneous Information
- Select the Miscellaneous tab.
- Under the Miscellaneous Information section, select the box Initial return (if applicable)
- Under the Final Return subsection, select Final return (if applicable)
- Select both boxes to mark the return as Initial and Final.
Marking a S Corporate return as initial or final
- Go to Input Return ⮕ General ⮕ Miscellaneous Information
- Select the box Initial return (if applicable).
- Under the Final Return subsection, select Final return (if applicable).
- Select both boxes to mark the return as Initial and Final.
Marking a Exempt Organization return as initial or final
- Go to Input Return ⮕ General ⮕ Miscellaneous Information
- Under section Miscellaneous (990-N, 990, 990-PF, 990-T) in the field labeled 1=initial return, 2=final return/termination, 3=both, enter a 1, 2, or 3.
Marking a Fiduciary return as initial or final
- Go to Input Return ⮕ General ⮕ Miscellaneous Information
- Select the Miscellaneous tab.
- Under the Estate/Trust Information section, select the box Initial return (if applicable)
- Under the Final Year Estate/Trust subsection, select Final return (if applicable)
- Select both boxes to mark the return as Initial and Final.
