How to resolve ProConnect Tax Diagnostic Ref 10912 and 7134 - CA extension or estimate in excess of $20,000 must remit through EFT

by Intuit Updated 8 months ago

This article will help resolve the following critical e-file diagnostic for California:

  • California corporations that remit an estimated tax payment or extension payment in excess of $20,000 or that have a total tax liability in excess of $80,000 must remit all of their payments through electronic funds transfer [EFT]. [ref. #10912/7134].

Once the return is marked for EFT, the diagnostic will clear and the return can be e-filed. However, the payment must be remitted on the CA FTB website.

For more information, refer to California FTB's website at www.ftb.ca.gov or review FTB Pub. 3817, Electronic Funds Transfer Program Information Guide.

For corporate returns:

  1. Go to Input Return State & Local Miscellaneous.
  2. Select the CA Miscellaneous tab.
  3. Scroll down to California Miscellaneous.
  4. Check the box Participant in EFT program.

For S corporate returns:
