Below are solutions to frequently asked questions about entering Arizona subtractions in the Individual module of Lacerte. Refer to the Arizona Form 140 Resident Personal Income Tax Booklet for more information.

  1. Go to Screen 51, Modifications.
  2. Select Arizona Modifications from the left navigation panel.
  3. Scroll down to Arizona Subtractions section.
  4. Enter the Contributions to 529 college savings plan (input sheet code 60).
    • Enter the amount contributed to 529 college savings plan during the taxable year.
    • The subtraction adjustment allowed for amount contributed is limited to $2,000 ($4,000 for a married couple).
  5. Hold down Ctrl+E in Other subtractions (Ctrl+E) (input sheet code 12).
  6. Enter the appropriate Description and Amount.
