The following critical diagnostic is generating:

The California Corporation Number must be seven digits in length for electronic filing. Ref #10610

To resolve this diagnostic:

  1. Go to the Input Return tab.
  2. On the left-side menu, select General.
  3. Click on Client Information.
  4. Scroll down to the California Information section.
  5. Enter the seven-digit CA Corporation #.

Important: An LLC electing to file as an S Corporation may have a California corporation number longer than seven digits. These returns must be paper filed. Due to an e-file business rule set forth by the California Franchise Tax Board, any S Corporate returns e-filed without a seven-digit California corporation number will be rejected.
