Entering CA IHSS for an Individual Return in Lacerte
by Intuit• Updated 4 weeks ago
There is not a set way to enter IHSS W-2 in the program. Below are a few things to keep in mind.
- If you file SOC 2298 then both the federal and state wages will not be taxable. Note of the W-2 that boxes 3 (FICA) and 5 (Medicare) will still have values
- With no federal (W-2, box 1) or state amount of wages, you will not be able to electronically file the return
- For EIC purposes, you may want to consider having part of the IHSS wages be taxable
