Generating Partnership CA Form 3522 Limited Liability Company Tax Voucher in Lacerte

How do I generate CA Form 3522, Limited Liability Company Tax Voucher?

Lacerte automatically generates this voucher. If the voucher is not generating automatically:

1. Click on the Detail tab.
2. Navigate to Screen 1, Client Information.
3. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous Info section.
4. Select Limited Liability Company from the Type of Entity drop-down menu.

Or

1. Click the Detail tab.
2. Navigate to Screen 37, Miscellaneous Information.
3. Select California from the left navigation panel.
4. Scroll down to the Limited Partnership Tax/LLC Annual Tax section.
5. Verify there is not a -1 in the box 2023 Estimated LLC Tax (Form 3522) (-1 for none) [O].

Or

1. Click on Settings.
2. Click on Options.
3. Select the  Items to print tab.
4. Click on Preparer Review Copy under Copy from the left navigation panel.
5. Mark the checkbox State Separate Forms under the Separately Filed Forms section.
   • Note: If the form is displayed in forms view, but is not printing, do the same thing with Client Copy, Government Filing Copy, etc.).

If Form 3522 is still not generating:

1. Click on the Detail tab.
2. Navigate to  Screen 3, Miscellaneous Information.
3. Verify if the checkbox Final return (code 13) is checked.
   • Unmark the checkbox because Form 3522 will not generate for a final year return.

If all of the above are correct and this return is not final:

1. Click the Detail tab.
2. Navigate to Screen 3, Miscellaneous Information.
3. Scroll down to the California Electronic Payment Information section.
4. Verify if the checkbox Electronic payment of next year's annual LLC tax is checked.
   • If this box is checked, the return is marked for e-file, and the account information for debit is filled out, form 3522 will not generate. Instead, the information will be on Form 8453-LLC.

Notes:

• The amount due ($800) cannot be overridden.
• Form 0 referenced on the form indicates the voucher is filed with a Form 568.

To "batch print" vouchers for multiple clients, use the Print Partial return function under the Print menu.
