The Invoice and Client letter/Filing instructions are used for client correspondence, instructions, and billing.
Setting up Billing and Fees on the Invoice
To set up the billing and invoice:
- On the Settings menu, select Client Invoice
- In the List of Invoice Schedule list, select the invoice you want to change.
- Select the Options tab
- In the Amounts section, enter the following:
- Sales Tax - This adds amounts you enter to the invoice total.
- Maximum Fee - Enter the maximum amount you want to charge for any tax return.
- Minimum Fee - Enter the minimum amount you want to charge for any tax return.
- In the W2/1099 Billing section, select the dropdown, and select the desired option:
- Select Yes to bill all clients for the form
- Select EF Returns Only to bill only e-file clients for the forms
- Select No to not bill clients for these forms
- In the Captions (Override) section, enter any new descriptions to change the default captions printed on different sections of the invoice
To add state, or additional charges:
- Select the Forms Charges tab
- Use the Select State drop-down to select Federal or State forms
- Enter the desired charges per form
- Some items such as Form 8949 have a charge for the firm, as well as a per item charge
- Select the Additional Charges tab to enter additional charges.
- You can enter up to 9 additional charges or discounts you want to apply to each client invoice
- Select OK to save the changes
How can I add a sentence, link, or paragraph to the bottom of the client invoice?
Lacerte's client invoice can be customized to include headers and footers. Those header and footer sections can be used to provide links or notes. Here's how to make changes:
- From inside the Lacerte program go to Settings and select Client Invoice.
- Select the Heading/Footing tab.
- Enter the text into Invoice Heading that you want to appear at the top of the invoice
- Enter the text into Invoice Footing that you want to appear at the bottom of the invoice.
- Close Invoice Setup window, selecting Save when prompted
How do I print an Invoice Price List
- Select the Settings menu
- Select Client Invoice
- Select the Form Charges tab
- Select Print
