How to review and sign your documents using eSignature in ProSeries

When your tax preparer sends you documents to sign with eSignature, you can review and sign them securely online from your computer or mobile deviceāno printing or scanning needed.

Opening your eSignature request
- Look for an email with the subject line something along the lines of:
āAction needed: Please review your documents and sign at your earliest convenience.ā
- Open the email and select Review to begin.
- Your web browser will open a secure signing page. You donāt need to install anything or sign in to an account.
If you don't see the email, check your spam or junk folder. the email will come from intuitsign@notification.intuit.com
Verifying your identity
Before you can view your tax documents, youāll need to verify your identity for security purposes.
- On the Fill in your info screen, enter your identifying information, such as:
- First and last name
- Address and ZIP code
- Date of birth
- Last four digits of your SSN

- Select Continue.
- Answer a few multiple-choice questions to confirm your identity.
- For example: āWhich of the following cities has a current or former association to you?ā

Once your identity is verified, your documents will open automatically.
Reviewing and signing your documents
- Review your tax documents carefully.
- Youāll see form names like Form 8879 (IRS e-file Signature Authorization).
- When youāre ready to sign, select the highlighted Sign field.
- In the Add your signature window:
- Verify your name appears correctly.
- Review the default signature style or draw your own.
- Read the acknowledgment text.

- Select Sign to apply your signature.
Repeat these steps if multiple signatures are required.
Finishing and confirming your signature
- After signing all required fields, select Finish (or follow the on-screen prompt).
- Youāll see a confirmation message that says:
āAll done, document was successfully signed and sent.ā - From this screen, you can immediately download your signed copy.
Downloading your signed documents
Youāll also receive a confirmation email with a subject line similar to āDocument signing completed.ā
- Open the email and select Download document.
- The download link is valid for one use and active for seven days from the date sent.
- Save or print your document for your records.
Troubleshooting common issues
Didnāt receive the email?
- Check your spam or junk folder. The email will come from intuitsign@notification.intuit.com.
- Ask your preparer to resend the request.
Verification failed?
- Double-check the information you entered (name, SSN, and address).
- If you canāt answer the verification questions, contact your preparer for assistance.
Link expired or not working?
- Contact your preparer to send a new eSignature request.
Canāt open the document?
- Use a supported browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox).
- Disable pop-up blockers if the signing window doesnāt open.
