Generating Form 8859 in ProConnect Tax

This article will show you how to generate Form 8859, Carryforward of the District of Columbia First-Time Homebuyer Credit, in the Individual return.

Refer to the IRS Instructions for Form 8859 for more information.

To generate Form 8859 in the program:

1. Go to Input Return ⮕ Credits ⮕ CTC, EIC, Oth Credits. 
2. Select the Less Common Scenarios tab.
3. Scroll down to the Other Credits section.
4. Enter the DC first-time homebuyer credit carryover (8859) field.
