How to generate Form 8396 in ProConnect Tax

This article will assist you with generating Form 8396, Mortgage Interest Credit, in the Individual return.

To generate Form 8396 in the program:

1. Go to Input Return ⮕ Credits ⮕ CTC, EIC, Oth Credits. 
2. Select the Home tab.
3. Scroll down to the Mortgage Interest Credit section.
4. Enter the Name of issuer.
5. Enter the Certificate number.
6. Enter the Issue date.
7. Enter the Interest paid on certified indebtedness.
8. Enter the Certificate credit rate (xx.xxxx).
9. Enter any other applicable fields on this screen.
