Entering Texas Web File Numbers in ProConnect Tax

by Intuit Updated 11 months ago

The Texas Web File Number is a security code that was mailed to all State of Texas Franchise taxpayers. If the taxpayer has misplaced the information, it can be retrieved by calling the Electronic Reporting Section at 1-800-442-3453.

Preparers are required to enter either the taxpayer's 'Webfile Number' or Total Revenue from the latest tax return for the return. This information will be used for verification before the state of Texas accepts the return.  First-time taxpayers must file using a paper return.

In the Total Revenue field in each of the screens below, enter the non-zero Total Revenue line from the taxpayer's latest tax return. If the value is zero, the Webfile Number must be used.

  1. Go to Input Return State & Local Taxes Texas Franchise Tax
  2. Select Texas Miscellaneous.

Partnership Return:

  2. Select the State & Local tab.
