New York City Form CT-3.3 triggers the following diagnostic in Lacerte:

  • e-file: Enter the greater of the New York State capital base tax or the fixed dollar minimum tax. (ref. #47366)

New York City Form CT-3.4 triggers the following diagnostic in Lacerte:

  • e-file: Enter the greater of the New York State capital base tax or the fixed dollar minimum tax. (ref. #47367)

How do I resolve this diagnostic?

Select the applicable diagnostic and form below for instructions on clearing it.

This diagnostic will generate for Form CT-3.3, when the totals on Form CT-3-A, page 4, lines 15 through 17 don't foot.

Follow these steps to resolve the diagnostic:

  1. Go to Forms tab.
  2. Review CT-3, page 3, lines 1b and 1c.
  3. Note which line is the greater of the two.
  4. Go to Screen 48, Net Operating Losses.
  5. Select NY State Regular Net Operating Loss Ded. from the left navigation panel.
  6. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous Information section.
  7. Enter the amount you noted in step 3 in the Greater of the capital base tax or the fixed dollar minimum tax for the current period [O] (code 96) field.
    • Once you enter this amount, Form CT-3-A, page 4, line 17 should be the difference between lines 15 and 16 and the diagnostic will clear.

The following diagnostic will generate for Form CT-3.3 when the totals on Form CT-3, page 4, lines 15 through 17 don't foot.

  1. Go to Forms tab.
  2. Review CT-3, page 3, lines 1b and 1c.
  3. Note which line is the greater of the two.
  4. Go to Screen 48, Net Operating Losses.
  5. Select NY State Regular Net Operating Loss Ded. from the left navigation panel.
  6. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous Information section.
  7. Enter the amount you noted in step 3 in the Greater of the capital base tax or the fixed dollar minimum tax for the current period [O] (code 96) field.
    • Once you enter this amount, Form CT-3, page 4, line 17 should be the difference between lines 15 and 16 and the diagnostic will clear.
