Entering capital gain dividends for a corporate or S corporate return in Lacerte

Follow these steps to enter capital gain dividends or distributions in the Corporate module:
- Go to Screen 15, Dispositions (Sch. D/4797/etc.).
- Select Carryovers/Misc Info. from the left navigation panel.
- Under the Schedule D (Miscellaneous) section, enter the Capital gain dividends.
- This amount will flow to the Schedule D, Line 14.
Follow these steps to enter capital gain dividends distributions in the S-Corporate module:
- Go to Screen 23, Dispositions (D, 4797, etc.).
- Select Miscellaneous Info. from the left navigation panel.
- Under the Schedule D (Miscellaneous) section, complete any applicable entries under the Capital Gain Dividends subsection.
- The amount entered in Total for year will flow to Schedule D, line 13.
- The amount entered in 28% rate will flow to Form 1120S, Schedule K, line 8b.
