Entering capital gain dividends for a Corporate or S-Corporate return in ProConnect Tax

Follow these steps to enter capital gain dividends or distributions in the Corporate module:

  1. From the Input Return tab, go to Income Dispositions (Schedule D, 4797, etc.).
  2. Click on the blue Carryovers/Misc Info. hyperlink in the upper right corner.
  3. Enter the amount in Capital gain dividends.
    • This amount will flow to the Schedule D Part II Line 14.

Follow these steps to enter capital gain dividends distributions in the S-Corporate module:

  1. From the Input Return tab, go to Schedule K Dispositions (Schedule D, 4797, etc.).
  2. Click on the blue Miscellaneous Info hyperlink in the upper right corner.
  3. Enter an amount in either of these inputs:
    • Total for year- this amount will flow to Schedule D Part II line 13.
    • 28% rate- this amount will flow to Form 1120S Page 3, Schedule K, line 8b.
