ProSeries currently has several gaps and limitations that should be addressed:
Tax Advisory availability Tax Advisory tools should be available in ProSeries, not limited only to ProConnect. It is not reasonable to expect users like myself—who are accustomed to ProSeries—to switch to an unfamiliar platform just to access Tax Advisory features.
Search functionality (Ctrl + F) The ability to use Ctrl + F should be enabled within ProSeries across all pages. This would allow users to quickly find specific words or entries within forms and significantly improve efficiency.
Training and clarity on Superseded vs. Amended returns There is a clear lack of training and documentation regarding the difference between superseded and amended returns. Even support staff are not fully familiar with the superseded return process. Providing clear instructional videos explaining the differences and proper procedures would be extremely helpful.
1040-NR availability across states Why is Form 1040-NR only supported for certain states like California and New York? Each year, I have more than 100 new clients from other states, and this limitation directly impacts my ability to serve them and generate revenue.
I rarely prepare 1040-NRs so your last point caught my attention. Are you saying you can't prepare most states from within the 1040-NR?
While I'm here, I'll make few comments on your other points:
1) Maybe it has improved, but based on when Advisory came out, it seemed like a waste of time and money. It seemed to only have very basic information.
2) Yes, I agree a word-search within a page would be nice, but I doubt if it will ever happen. It is possible the type of programming for the page may not even be particularly compatible with a word-search.
3) Within ProSeries, isn't clicking a check-box the only difference between amending and superseding return?? Or am I missing something?
4) Each year you have more than 100 new clients from other states? Wow. Are a large portion of those Nonresident or Dual Status Aliens?
4b) ProSeries is NOT particularly good with foreign-related things, so if you have a lot of Nonresident Alien clients, you may consider trying out different software.
As a side note, unfortunately making suggestions here is pretty much useless. I don't think the developers even look at the suggestions. A few years ago a nice developer came to this forum asking for what improvements we would like, and he didn't even know that the suggestion pages even existed. The management doesn't give a crap about ProSeries.

On Form 1040-NR, you can only file return for states that do not have an income tax, California and New York. For other states tax returns alongside a 1040-NR is not supported in ProSeries. Additionally, Form 9465 is not covered in ProSeries for 1040-NR filings. For 1040-NR filings in California there are many F-1 visa holders and other nonresident student taxpayers.
