Submitted by RoryStar on 11-02-2023 10:49 AMOnce a taxpayer or spouse provides an IRS-issued Identity Protection PIN, it would be helpful if ProSeries flagged these clients in subsequent tax years in the software. Taxpayers must provide a fresh PIN each tax season and I am surprised at how many clients forget that they need the PIN letter from the IRS to file in subsequent years. I make a note in the client file, of course, but an alert in the next season’s software would be a real help and time saver. Perhaps the PIN field could be highlighted for affected taxpayers with a means to turn off the highlight if the PIN will no longer be used. Thank you.
