Is it possible to efile a Calif amended (2023) return?

The fed went thru - no issues but California was rejected for dup ssn. All the amended , etc boxes are checked.

Do you still have the EF box checked for the original CA return? 

You have to uncheck that, I thought it gives warning, but maybe it didn't have the warning back in 2023.

Do you see CA Amended as a line in the EFCenter?

Yes, EF box removed from original and EF Client checked for amended

still rejected as duplicate.

The only piece in the instructions that might be relevant is this: "Most amended state tax returns can’t be e-filed.". As stated, the fed was accepted - no issues, the state rejected for dup SSN. I would think Intuit would have a more relevant error message.

Will paper file the state. Thanks for the input.

I EF CA amended returns all the time, it can be done.  

The duplicate SSN message makes me think its trying to send the original again, not the amended.

Sadly, I dont have access to a copy of Basic to see how its set up for EFiling...are you EF from within the client return, or outside in Homebase?
