Client just called and their bank account has been hacked so a freeze has been placed on their account. I coded for the estimated quarterly payments to come out of this account. Is there a way to get the bank acct changed for the June, Sept and Jan payments?
There is a number to call the IRS to cancel the payments but if you want to change the bank information I think your client needs to set up an IRS account and do it through that system.
Signing up for an Individual Online Account allows the taxpayer to view past and pending payments, schedule future payments up to a year in advance, store multiple bank account numbers, and make several payments within a single transaction.

Call the phone number on the 8879 and cancel all future payments, then you can use IRS DiretPay to schedule new ones with the new account.
