Efile Rejection because of form 1095A

Donna Del

Client states they have health insurance with the us postal service and never had insurance through the

market place.  How do I get the efile to be accepted?

Open a 1095-A worksheet (I find this easiest to do by just typing 1095-A in the "Where do I enter" box).

Near the top of the worksheet is a box you can check beside "Check if no marketplace health insurance purchased."

This should resolve the issue and allow you to e-file the return.

You also have to attach the statement as a PDF or it will continue to reject.

Make sure you choose the ACA Explanation as the "type": of attachment or it will reject again.

Here are the full instructions for Form 8962 - it includes adding the PDF attachment to deal with the reject >>  PTC in Pro-Series.

Starting in tax year 2023, if the taxpayer, spouse, or dependents enrolled in the marketplace, even if they never activated their policy, the marketplace may have issued them a 1095-A. If the return is e-filed without the 1095-A the IRS will reject the return with error F8962-070, which reads as:

"The e-file database indicates that Form 8962 or a binary attachment with description containing 'ACA Explanation' must be present in the return."

To solve this reject, you'll want to attach a PDF - explaining why the 1095-A wasn't reported with the return, and in ProSeries Attach PDF Files window, under the Type column, select ACA Explanation.
