Discount for proseries renewal

I was looking to renew my proseries for the upcoming year & what they called a discounted rate was more than I paid last year to renew. How is this considered a discount

The price always goes up. They raise the price and then discount off the new higher price.

its not a discount from prior year.

They got us all with that increased FastPath fee (fee for nothing fee), that had close to a $300 increase this year,
