Car & Truck Worksheet requires depreciation info when mileage is used

Why is depreciation information required, cost, prior depreciation, method, convention and recovery period required when we are choosing to use mileage?  It is not necessary and never was in the past.

You can go up the spot where you check the box to 'force' the Standard Mileage Rate and it will go away.

On the other hand, if you are still preparing their tax return when they dispose of the vehicle, you'll likely need to know the Basis.  Because of that, personally, I usually ask for it from the clients, and that gives me the option to use Actual Expenses if that ends up being a better result.
