Can you efile a federal estimated tax payment for 2026 after filing an extension for 2025 for an individual?

The box to trigger the first quarter 2026 estimated payment has been checked and an amount entered for the first quarter estimated payment.

You should have made the estimate payment as part of the extension payment.  You can't file e-file estimated tax payments separately from the 1040.

no, you cant do ES alone like that, but IRS DirectPay will let you schedule it.

@Just-Lisa-Now-   Congrats….  CA  wins the award for the most convoluted PS process for sending $$ with a 3519… only took 3 tries and a 1/2 hour to figure it out 

If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround

I managed to get 2 of them to EF a few weeks ago, it was tough, but it finally worked.

I gave up on the 2 I had this week and just went to FTB Webpay and did it, what a big mess PS makes it!!

@Just-Lisa-Now-  A lot of states seem to have additional workflow and transmission requirements…. I’m giving INTu the benefit of the doubt that the taxing authorities put additional security requirements on 3rd party software vendors 

If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround
