1099-NEC entry is NOT throwing an error if you don't link it or check the Other income box

This changed recently and is working fine in the 2024 program.  Hubby does data entry for me.  New 1099-NEC for a client.  He would let me decide if other income or needs to be linked to a C....normally it would turn the link box red, so I would know it was there.

NOT ANYMORE!  The Schedule C line in the pic should be red..... and of course it is not flowing anywhere either....which is expected if nothing is selected!

Yea.  Suppose the first thing to do would be to remind hubby to let you know that the 1099 was not directed anywhere.  Otherwise a divorce lawyers business card stapled on the front of his next pay check will also give him the hint that this is kinda important.

Have him create an error on the amount.  It is annoying and dangerous since that is not how it worked before.

 that is what we are doing.....an override so it throws an error.  Just sucks because its another thing that got "broke".....
