Why does the year 2020 not print on the Form 8879?

IRS changed it, now theres a date line at the top we're supposed to fill in the year. 

Personally, I just wrote in 2020 in the top corner so I could see it easier in the client file.

It has been that way all tax season... Many have commented about it... It's just the way it is and I don't think it's a big issue... Just my opinion

Early in the season it was a problem, but the updates corrected this.

Try updating your program.

you may see it on the screen, but the printed 8879 will NOT show the 2020 up in the corner like all the other years of 8879s.

The IRS designed it that way to avoid redoing the form each year.

 

It is NOT a bug.  It is by design.

 

Imho, that was a STUPID change!!
