Why does a name change not show on the file name to e-file the return?

I have a client who married changing her last name but when I do the married filing joint return the file name for e-file still has her maiden name

Why does married name not show on the file to be e-filed?

    If you change her last name on the Fed Info worksheet, her name should be changed on all forms in the return....I dont know what "the name for efile" means.

      Are you talking about the File Name...If so you would need to change that manually - it is not tied to the info worksheet.

        ahh, good catch!

        dbowen, just right click on the client name in HB (not the EFcenter) and choose Rename and give it a different name, it only picks up the last name on the initial saving of the file.
