What is the best number to call to try to reach a person at an IRS office?

Have been trying to get InTouch with someone at the IRS about a previous filing by another preparer.

Any advice?

It is extremely hard to impossible to get to talk to anyone at IRS.

Do you have a 2848 Power of Attorney? No one will talk to you, if you do get a person, without that.

    Yes, I have the 2848 registered

    I know sometimes time of day can make a difference.

    Just keep trying. Practitioner Priority Line is apt to give better help, but I can't get through there either.
