Solved

What do I need to do to get the due for farmer tax returns of March 1, 2019 to print on the "Client Letter" rather than April 15?

I have reviewed the available codes for the letter and there is not one that would make the March 1, 2019 appear for you, but if you are using ProSeries Professional you can edit the date on a Custom letter to apply to just this return.

  1. Open the return.
  2. Go to Tools then Letters
  3. Choose Edit Client Letter.
  4. Choose Custom Client Letter then Edit
  5. Go to the Edit menu and choose Find
  6. Put in the text  <@FDIDate> and click OK.
  7. When you see the code <@FDIDate> delete the whole thing and put in your March 1, 2019 date.

You can then either save or Print the letter using the File menu.

Why don't you just do it like you are supposed to do it?  Click the fourth box down on Schedule F that 2/3 of your gross is from farming and it should print out 3/01.  Also you will not have penalty calculated which should help client.  And they would not have a 3/01 due date if that box is not checked.

Thanks.  That works for the Federal filing instructions, but not the State filing instructions.
