vcredit_x86.exe returned error code 1618 when downloading tax year 2024 on new computer

I just purchased a new computer and when I downloaded the 2024 software the product downloaded with no issues. When it began installing the software on my new computer I get the following error message

"vcredit_x86.exe returned error code 1618"

???? Any help would be appreciated

The error code 1618 from vcredist_x86.exe indicates that another installation process is currently running and blocking the current one. This is a common Windows Installer error, and it means you need to wait for the other installation to finish or manually end it.

    Press the "ctrl alt delete" buttons to open up task manager.  Shut off anything that looks like it could be an Intuit product.

      @IRonMaN  Or shut off anything that looks like it's NOT an Intuit product?  If he is trying to install Intuit.

        Thanks for the insight. 2024 is now installed, stress level at zero!!!!
