Trying to file a federal extension for a MA client and can't make payment

I am attempting to file a federal and MA extension for a client and I am getting a reject based on too late.  I thought federal for MA resident is due today.  Why can't I file for extension and make payment?

there was an alert posted on the software today telling you the procedure.

It involves filing from the efile homebase and removing the conversion error check by unchecking that box.

I am having the same problem.  MA client with rejection for being too late.  Can you direct me to the alert?
