termination of partnership

I already filed a 2020 form 1065 for a client but they terminated their business in 2021 so I need to file a short year return using the 2020 return because the 2021 form 1065 return isn't ready yet.  Do I have to create a new client or is there another way? Will this create duplicate tax ID number problems?

Try save as … then revise the return .. yes you’ll have a duplicate EIN but you should be able to override ( efile without error checking) to get past intuit.

If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround
