My client is a Texas taxpayer impacted by the winter storms. As a result, the IRS tax filing deadline was extended to June 15, 2021. However, today, June 2, 2021, my client asked me to file an extension as he will not be ready to file by June 15th. ProSeries Basic will not allow me to file an extension with an error message that it is too late. Will there be a software fix on ProSeries for Texas taxpayers to file an extension?

The IRS will not accept electronic extensions past the general May 17th deadline even though the deadline is in June in some areas.  Now the extensions need to be filed by mail (or maybe by paying for an extension at IRS Direct Pay?)/
