Preparer date no printing on page 2 of 2019 Form 1040

After input of preparer date, and after efiling, the date is not printing on the print nor pdf copies of the Form 1040.  What is up with that?

Go to tools

Scroll down to Options

Click on Firm/Preparer 

Under Preparer/ERO INFO scroll down to preparer email

Right beside it is a block to print date on return that must be checked.

    I do NOT want the computer to auto-generate the date.  I would like to input the actual date I prepared the return.

    That function worked on previous versions of Form 1040 in the past (except for the kooky 2018 half-page return).

    Is this a programming issue which needs to be resolved?
